26-Year-Old Shot Dead in ‘Suspected Firing’ Along IB

Samba/Jammu, June 8: A man was tragically killed in suspected firing along the International Border (IB) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Samba district, officials reported on Saturday.

The victim, identified as Vasudev, was a 28-year-old labourer. He was brought to the hospital with a fatal bullet injury to his chest, officials said.

Vasudev was engaged in a construction project along the IB when the incident occurred. The sudden and unexpected firing led to his immediate death on the spot.

The authorities have confirmed that the bullet wound was the cause of Vasudev’s death. The circumstances surrounding the firing are still unclear and under investigation.

The Border Security Force (BSF) and local police are actively looking into the matter. They are working together to determine the source of the firing and the events leading up to the incident.

This tragic event has raised concerns about safety and security for workers in the border areas. The investigation aims to uncover whether this was an isolated incident or part of a larger pattern of border-related violence.

The local community has expressed their grief and shock over Vasudev’s death. Many are calling for increased security measures to protect those working near the border.

As the investigation progresses, officials have promised to provide updates on any significant findings. The focus remains on ensuring justice for Vasudev and preventing similar incidents in the future.
