Weather Update,Night Temp Rises in J&K Amid Mainly Dry Weather Forecast Till

Mainly Dry Conditions in Jammu and Kashmir Until March 20:The weather forecast for Jammu and Kashmir predicts mainly dry conditions until March 20, with a slight rise in night temperatures across most locations on Sunday.

Temperature Fluctuations Across Regions:In Srinagar, the minimum temperature rose to 2.0°C from 1.2°C the previous night, albeit still 2.7°C below normal for this time of year. Qazigund saw a similar trend, recording a minimum of 1.6°C compared to 2.1°C on the previous night.

Temperature Comparisons in Key Locations:Pahalgam observed a low of minus 1.7°C, slightly higher than the previous night, while Kokernag recorded 2.9°C, both remaining below normal temperatures for this period. Meanwhile, Kupwara town recorded a low of 0.5°C, indicating a deviation of 2.6°C below normal.

Gulmarg and Other Areas:Gulmarg, the renowned skiing resort in north Kashmir, experienced a low of minus 2.0°C, with a slight increase from the previous night. In Jammu, the minimum temperature was 12.1°C, still below normal by 2.8°C.

Temperature Readings in Other Regions:Banihal registered a low of 4.4°C, Batote 8.5°C, and Bhaderwah 4.5°C, reflecting variations across different areas in the region.

Forecast Beyond March 20:Although dry weather is expected to persist until March 20, the meteorological department anticipates a fresh spell of rain and snow across Jammu and Kashmir from March 21 to March 24.
