Weather Update,Light Rain and Snow Expected in J&K From
The weather forecast for Jammu and Kashmir on March 21 and 22 predicts generally cloudy skies with the possibility of light rain or snow accompanied by thunder, lightning, and gusty winds over the plains. A meteorological department official stated that until March 20, dry weather is expected across the region.
However, from March 21 to 22, many places in Kashmir and Jammu Division are likely to experience light rain or snowfall along with thunder, lightning, and gusty winds. The weather is expected to remain generally dry on March 23, followed by partly to generally cloudy conditions with light rain or snow at few places on March 24 and 25.
In terms of night temperatures, Srinagar recorded a minimum of 3.5°C, slightly above the previous night but still below normal for this time of the year. Qazigund, Pahalgam, and Kokernag also reported temperatures below normal, while Gulmarg recorded a temperature above normal.
Meanwhile, Jammu recorded a minimum temperature of 13.2°C, below normal for the winter capital. Other regions such as Banihal, Batote, and Bhaderwah reported varying temperatures, indicating a mix of conditions across the region.
This forecast suggests a potential shift in weather patterns, with the likelihood of precipitation and gusty winds in certain areas of Jammu and Kashmir, urging residents and travelers to be prepared for possible disruptions and changes in weather conditions.
