Weather Alert: Heavy Rain and Thunderstorms Expected in Jammu and Kashmir
Srinagar,July3,2024: (WD) The Meteorological Centre, Srinagar, has issued a weather advisory predicting heavy rain and thunderstorms in Jammu and Kashmir from July 4 to July 6. The forecast warns of flash floods, landslides, and shooting stones in vulnerable areas during this period.
According to the forecast, July 4 will see intermittent light to moderate rain and thundershowers in Jammu Division, with isolated heavy rain. The next two days, July 5 and 6, will experience intermittent moderate rainfall across Jammu and Kashmir, with heavy rainfall at few places.
The weather is expected to return to hot and humid conditions from July 8 to July 10, with a possibility of rain and thundershowers at scattered places in Jammu Division and few places in Kashmir Division.
The authorities have been advised to take necessary precautions to mitigate the impact of the heavy rain and thunderstorms. The public is also advised to stay vigilant and avoid traveling to vulnerable areas during the next few days.(Wattandaily)
