Srinagar, Feb 07 (WD):
Traffic Advisory from Traffic Police Headquarters, J&K, Jammu/Srinagar
From 06-02-2024, 1700 hrs. to 07-02-2024, 1700 hrs., slow movement was observed on NH-44 due to the breakdown of 04 HMVs and single lane traffic at Dalwas. Poor road surface conditions were noted at various spots between Nashri and NAVYUG Tunnel.
Passengers and LMV operators are advised to travel on the Jammu-Srinagar NHW during daylight hours and avoid night travel due to the risk of shooting stones between Ramban and Banihal.
HMV operators/owners are urged to avoid overloading, ensure sufficient fuel for their journey on the Jammu-Srinagar NHW, and double-check the fitness of their vehicles before setting out.
Only HMVs with 06 and 10 tyres will be permitted to travel via Dhar road.
Traffic Plan & Advisory for 08-02-2024:
LMVs, Passenger/Private Cars, HMVs, and Load Carriers will be allowed from both sides on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44), provided the weather and road conditions are favorable. Commuters are reminded to maintain lane discipline.
SFs Convoy Movement:
Security Forces vehicles will also be permitted from both directions on Jammu-Srinagar NHW (NH-44). Travelers should contact TCU Ramban before embarking on their journey.
Road Conditions:
Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumri road, Mughal road, Bhaderwah-Chamba road, and Kishtwar-Sinthan-Anantnag NH244 road remain blocked due to snow accumulation.
ADVISORY:
People are advised to confirm the status of NH-44 from Traffic Control Units before commencing their journey.
