Snowfall in Kashmir, Prediction for next two days
Srinagar, Feb 02 (WD):
The local Meteorological department predicts light to moderate snow and rain, especially in higher reaches, for the next two days. Director MeT, Dr Mukhtar Ahmad, issues avalanche warnings for specific districts in the region.
As for the weather outlook, the forecast includes partly to generally cloudy conditions on February 05 and dry weather from February 06-13.
Qazigund and three other locations in Kashmir are facing the coldest temperatures in the last 16 years, accompanied by snowfall. Sonamarg reaches a bone-chilling -15.1°C, with a two-day wet spell expected starting tomorrow.
Notably, popular destinations like Gulmarg and Pahalgam report temperatures as low as -12.0°C and -11.9°C, respectively. Srinagar, the summer capital, records -0.3°C, while Kokernag in South Kashmir hits -9.4°C.(WD)
