Appointment of Chief Secretary, Jammu & Kashmir

J&K November 29; In light of the impending superannuation of Sh. Arun Kumar Mehta, IAS (AGMUT:1988) on November 30, 2023, and subsequent repatriation from Central Deputation, Sh. Atal Dulloo, IAS (AGMUT: 1988) has been officially designated as the Chief Secretary for Jammu & Kashmir. This appointment is effective from December 1, 2023, or from the date of assumption of charge, whichever occurs later, and will continue until further orders.

The transition in leadership comes as part of the routine administrative changes due to retirement. Sh. Arun Kumar Mehta’s tenure concludes with his superannuation, paving the way for Sh. Atal Dulloo to assume the pivotal role of Chief Secretary. As per the order, this decision has received the necessary approval from the Competent Authority.

Sh. Atal Dulloo, an experienced officer in the IAS cadre (AGMUT: 1988), brings a wealth of administrative knowledge to his new position. His responsibilities will encompass overseeing and coordinating various administrative functions in Jammu & Kashmir.

This appointment underscores the government’s commitment to ensuring a seamless transition of key administrative roles, maintaining continuity in governance, and entrusting capable individuals with the responsibility of leading crucial departments. The effective date of this order marks the commencement of Sh.
