Kashmir Region Welcomes Snowfall After a Month of Dry Weather

Srinagar, Jan 25 (WD): Breaking the month-long dry spell, snowfall has finally arrived in the southern region of Kashmir.

As per sources, reports are there that the snowfall has commenced at Peer Ki Gali in Shopian District along the Mughal Road. The snowfall is currently ongoing in the area as of the time of this report.

Simultaneously, the meteorological forecast predicts isolated to scattered light rain and snow across Jammu and Kashmir in the coming days. The Meteorological Office has issued an advisory from January 28-31, cautioning about potential temporary road closures in higher reaches and significant passes such as Sinthan Pass, Mughal Road, Sadhna and Razdan Pass, Zojila, etc.

Travelers are advised to plan their journeys accordingly, as stated by a meteorological department official to Daily Wattan. On February 1, there is a possibility of light rain or snow at scattered places. (WD)
