4000 Posts to be filled in J&K by March 2024: CS J&K

The Jammu and Kashmir Government is set to fill 4000 vacancies across various departments by March 2024, addressing a significant manpower shortage. Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, in an exclusive interview, emphasized the government’s commitment to strict actions against both anti-national elements and corruption.
Dulloo highlighted the administration’s dedication to transparency in the recruitment process, ensuring fairness in candidate selection for government services. The government aims to streamline the process of addressing people’s grievances by implementing a mechanism for digitalizing complaints.
Responding to concerns about delays in the Public Service Commission’s recruitment process due to a vacant leadership position, Dulloo assured that the post of Chairman would be filled promptly.
The Chief Secretary reiterated the government’s commitment to implementing transfer policies for government employees without compromising administrative efficiency. Additionally, he assured the timely clearance of pending bills, including GP Fund, retirement benefits, and contractor bills.
Efforts are underway to appoint a Principal for the Government Ayurvedic College in Jammu, focusing on establishing a mechanism to avoid adhocism in appointments.
In terms of economic development, a robust industrial package has been sanctioned for the UT, with 40 industrial estates being set up. The government aims to promote micro and medium entrepreneurs and generate employment by aligning with schemes from both the central and UT governments.
Dulloo also emphasized the development of offbeat tourist destinations in Jammu and Kashmir, including Bhaderwah, Shiv Khori, Suchetgarh, Duddu Basantgarh, Sanasar, Surinsar, Mansar, and Basholi. The government is actively working to enhance road, water, and electricity connections to boost tourism in these areas.
Regarding the construction of Hydro Electric power projects, Dulloo shared plans for three projects in the erstwhile Doda district to be commissioned by 2026, along with the resumption and intensification of work on the New Ganderbal Hydro Electric Project in Kashmir valley.
Addressing concerns about a shortage of doctors in newly established Medical Colleges, Dulloo assured that except for Doda and Rajouri Medical Colleges, there is no faculty shortage. Advertisements are being issued to fill vacant posts, and academic arrangements are being made to prevent any inconvenience to the public.(Wattan Daily)
