JKBOSE Updates Exam Timings for Classes 10th, 11th, and 12th

JKBOSE Announces Revised Schedule for Annual Regular Examinations 2024: Ensuring Smooth Conduct Amidst Changing Circumstances

In a recent announcement, the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has disclosed an updated schedule for the Annual Regular Examinations 2023-24, targeting Classes X, XI, and XII in the Hard Zone areas. This adjustment comes with significant changes, including modifications in examination timings and the introduction of dual shifts for certain classes, aimed at streamlining the examination process and accommodating various stakeholders’ needs effectively.

The 10th Annual Regular examinations for Hard Zone areas are scheduled to commence from April 4, 2024, at 10:00 am in the morning shift, marking a crucial milestone for students in these regions. Similarly, the 12th class examinations for the same zone are set to begin from April 8, 2024, at 2:00 pm in the evening shift, providing students with ample preparation time to perform at their best.

In a bid to ensure equitable treatment, adjustments have been made for the 11th class examinations in Soft Zone areas, which will now begin from April 2, 2024, at 1:00 pm. Meanwhile, the 11th class examinations for Hard Zone areas are rescheduled to commence from April 22, 2024, at 10:00 am, aligning with the board’s commitment to fairness and accessibility in education.

The decision to revise the examination schedule was prompted by various factors, including directives from the Joint Chief Electoral Officer, UT of J&K, Jammu, regarding the Lok Sabha Election 2024 schedule, and communication from the National Testing Agency regarding the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) 2024. Additionally, the board considered numerous representations from students advocating for the rescheduling of JKBOSE exams, demonstrating a commitment to responsiveness and student-centric decision-making.

With the revised schedule in place, all stakeholders, including principals, overall in-charges, superintendents, exam staff, students, and parents, are urged to meticulously adhere to the outlined timelines and instructions. Teachers play a crucial role in promptly disseminating information to students to avoid confusion, ensuring that examinees arrive at the examination centers punctually and fully prepared.

Moreover, the responsibility lies with the overall in-charges to ensure the accurate distribution of question papers at the designated centers and times, with special emphasis on Sub/Branch officers of JKBOSE for disseminating the revised examination schedule in Hard Zone areas.

In the event of any queries or confusion, stakeholders are encouraged to reach out to the nearest JKBOSE office or utilize the JKBOSE helpline at 0191-2953195 or 0194-3113091. Additionally, assistance can be sought from Joint Secretary Exam JD at mobile number 9419144203 or Joint Secretary Kashmir at mobile number 8493831545, underscoring the board’s commitment to providing support and guidance during this period of transition.

Effective cooperation and coordination among all concerned parties are essential to ensure the smooth conduct of the examinations as per the revised schedule. The updated examination schedule is readily accessible on the official website of JKBOSE (www.jkbose.nic.in), reaffirming the board’s dedication to transparency and accessibility in education administration.

In conclusion, the revised schedule for the Annual Regular Examinations 2024 reflects JKBOSE’s unwavering commitment to conducting examinations efficiently while prioritizing the welfare and convenience of students amidst external circumstances and unforeseen events. By adapting to changing dynamics and embracing stakeholder feedback, JKBOSE aims to uphold the integrity and quality of education delivery in the region, fostering a conducive learning environment for all.
