JKBOSE announced New Pass Marks Criteria for Class 11th, 12th Examinations session 2023-24, check here

The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has announced new marks criteria for the Higher Secondary Part-I (Class 11th) and Part-II (Class 12th) examinations for the academic session 2023-24.

This move aims to ensure consistency and fairness in evaluating students’ academic performances across various subject areas. Under the updated pass criteria, students from all streams, including Humanities, Science, Home Science, and Commerce, must meet specific minimum marks to pass their exams.

According to JKBOSE guidelines, students need a minimum of 33% marks in General English and 36% marks in each of the four elective subjects chosen by them. Additionally, for subjects with practical examinations, candidates must secure 36% marks in both theory and practical components, assessed separately. Moreover, candidates must achieve a cumulative score of 36% in the aggregate of theory and practical components combined.

These pass criteria outline the minimum marks required for passing in each subject, ensuring that students meet the necessary academic standards set by the board. The release of these criteria is expected to provide clarity and guidance to students, teachers, and educational institutions as they prepare for the Class 12th examinations in the academic session 2023-24. It emphasizes the board’s commitment to transparency and accountability in the evaluation process, ultimately contributing to the overall quality of education in the region.

In addition to the pass criteria announcement, the Ministry of Education has also released updated guidelines concerning the minimum pass marks for Higher Secondary Part-II (Class 12th) examinations across various disciplines. These guidelines aim to ensure consistent evaluation standards and fair assessment practices across different subject areas, reinforcing the importance of adhering to directives for maintaining academic integrity and upholding the quality of education.

Regarding the JKBOSE Uniform Academic Calendar for 2022, it likely included key aspects such as the commencement of the academic session, teaching periods, examination schedules including half-yearly and annual exams, result declaration timelines, vacation periods, and board meetings/administrative activities.

Specific dates and details would have been officially released by the board at the beginning of the academic year, and for the most accurate information, individuals are advised to refer to official communications from JKBOSE or respective school authorities.
