Slow Traffic Movement on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway
Jammu/Srinagar, December 27, 2023: From 26-12-2023, 1700 hrs. to 27-12-2023, 1700 hrs., commuters on NH-44 experienced slow movement due to the breakdown of three heavy motor vehicles (HMVs) and poor road conditions at Dalwas. Additionally, single-lane traffic was observed at Cafeteria-Mehad, Magerkote, Nachlana, and Hingani between Nashri and NAVYUG Tunnel.
Travel Advisory for Passengers and Operators
Passengers and light motor vehicle (LMV) operators are advised to prefer daytime journeys on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NHW) and avoid night travel due to the risk of shooting stones between Ramban and Banihal. Heavy motor vehicle (HMV) operators are urged to avoid overloading, ensure sufficient fuel, and double-check the fitness of their vehicles before undertaking journeys on Jammu-Srinagar NHW.

Subject to fair weather and road conditions, both LMVs and HMVs shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu-Srinagar NHW on December 28, 2023. Commuters are advised to follow lane discipline. Security Forces convoy movements are also permitted, maintaining the same conditions.
