Lady Faces Legal Action for Drug Smuggling in Kashmir

In an effort to tackle drug-related issues, the Baramulla Police has arrested Afroza Begum, a notorious lady drug smuggler under the PIT NDPS Act. She is now confined to Central Jail Kot-balwal in Jammu.

Afroza Begum, also known as Afree, is the wife of the late Fayaz Ahmad Dar and resides in Ganie Hamam Baramulla with an address in Hygam Sopore. She has faced formal detention orders under the PIT-NDPS Act.

Notorious for her involvement in the drug trade, Afroza Begum supplied narcotics to local youth in Baramulla, Hygam Sopore, and other areas of the district. Despite multiple FIRs, she continued her illegal activities, contributing to the rise in drug abuse.

The Baramulla Police’s action against her has been applauded by the general public. This highlights the police’s commitment to maintaining a drug-free society in Baramulla.(Wattan Daily)
