Srinagar’s Iconic Tulip Garden Opens to Public

Kashmir’s renowned Tulip Garden, one of Asia’s largest, welcomed visitors on Saturday as it officially opened its gates for the season. This year, the garden boasts an impressive display of 1.7 million tulips, featuring five new varieties alongside the existing blooms.

According to officials from the floriculture department, the addition of these new flower varieties promises a vibrant and diverse floral showcase for visitors. The eagerly anticipated opening drew both national and international tourists eager to witness the spectacle of blooming tulips.

As crowds of locals and tourists flocked to catch a glimpse of the garden on its inaugural day, officials assured that in the coming days, the garden would be in full bloom. Situated against the backdrop of the picturesque Zabarwan mountain range and alongside the majestic Dal Lake, the garden offers a breathtaking vista of red, yellow, and pink tulip bulbs in both early and late blooming varieties.

Preparations for the garden’s opening were meticulously planned, with a meeting convened by Divisional Commissioner Vijay Kumar Bidhuri to review arrangements. Attendees included officials from the Floriculture Department, Srinagar Traffic Police, Srinagar Municipal Corporation, Tourism Department, and Srinagar Smart City Limited.

Discussions during the meeting encompassed various aspects such as visitor management, traffic control, parking facilities, sanitation measures, cleanliness drives, pothole repairs, and online ticketing services. These efforts aim to ensure a seamless and enjoyable experience for all visitors to Asia’s largest Tulip Garden.
