Property Worth Crores of Two Militant Handlers Based in Pak Attached: Police

Srinagar, June 08 (WD) – In a significant development, police on Saturday announced the attachment of property worth crores belonging to two militant handlers based in Pakistan. This action was carried out in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district, highlighting the authorities’ ongoing efforts to combat terrorism.

According to a handout provided to Wattan Daily, the police stated that they had secured an attachment order from the Additional Sessions Court in Baramulla. The order allowed the police to attach properties measuring 8 Kanals and 4 Marlas of land. These properties are valued in crores and belong to two terror handlers currently residing in Pakistan.

The individuals identified are Jaleel Ahmad Rather, son of Gh Mohd, and Mohd Ashraf Mir, son of Sonaullah Mir. Both are originally from Tilgam in Baramulla. The attachment of their properties is a significant move in the fight against terrorism and aims to disrupt the financial networks supporting militant activities.

The police spokesperson further detailed that this action was taken under sections of 83 CRPC. It is linked to case FIR No. 04/2008, which involves charges under sections 2/3 of the EIMCO Act, section 121 of the RPC, section 7/25 of the Indian Arms Act, and section 13 of the UA (P) Act of PS Kreeri.

During the investigation and enquiry conducted by the police, these properties were identified as belonging to the terror handlers. This identification was crucial in enabling the authorities to proceed with the attachment under the legal provisions available.

The attachment of properties is part of a broader strategy by the police and security forces to target the assets of those involved in terror activities. By doing so, they aim to weaken the logistical and financial support that enables terrorism.

The operation underscores the police’s commitment to combating terrorism and ensuring that those who engage in or support such activities face significant consequences. It also serves as a warning to others who might be involved in similar activities that their actions will not go unnoticed.

In conclusion, this operation marks a decisive step in the ongoing efforts to maintain security and order in the region. The attachment of properties belonging to militant handlers is a clear message that the authorities are determined to root out terrorism from its very foundations.
