Police attaches residential property of Militant Associate in Kokernag

Srinagar, Jan 18 (WD):

On January 18, the police took action by attaching a residential property belonging to a terrorist associate in the Kokernag area of Anantnag. This move is part of the ongoing efforts to dismantle the terror ecosystem, targeting those who harbor terrorists and provide logistical support.

The District Police Anantnag, in collaboration with the concerned Executive Magistrate, attached the residential property of Ab Salam Rather, son of Mohd Ramzan Rather, located at Tangpawa Kokernag. This action is associated with Case FIR No. 170/2022, involving charges under various sections, including IPC, Arms Act, and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.

During the investigation, it was revealed that Zahoor Ahmad Rather, son of Ab Salam Rather, was operating as a terrorist associate (OGW) and providing support to killed terrorists Asif Reshi and Wakeel Ahmad Bhat. The attachment of the property is in accordance with the “Proceeds of terrorism” under section 2(g) read with section 25 of UA(P) Act 1967.

The confirmation of the property attachment was granted by the competent authority. Anantnag Police urges the public once again not to provide logistical support to terrorists, emphasizing that strict legal action will be taken against those found guilty.
