Police Arrests Drug Peddler in Qazigund, Kulgam; contraband substance recovered
July 19: In continuation of its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, kulgam police have arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
A police party of Police station Qazigund at a checkpoint established at Upper Bazar Qazigund intercepted one motorcyclist identified as Sahil Ahmad Lone Son of Abdul Rashid Lone resident of Dalwach, Qazigund carrying a nylon bag. After search, 1.4 KGs of Poppy Straw like contraband substance was recovered. He has been arrested and shifted to Police Station where he remains in custody. Also vehicle used in commission of crime has been seized.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 189/2024 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Qazigund and investigation has been taken up.
