Mother, her 3 child died after Kacha house collapses  in J&k

March 3 (WD) In a tragic incident in the Chassana belt of Reasi district in Jammu and Kashmir, a family of four faced a devastating landslide that resulted in their demise. The incident occurred during the night amidst incessant rainfall, catching the family unaware as they were asleep in their Kacha house in Kunderdhan Chassana.

The victims of this unfortunate event included a mother and her three young children. Phalla Akther, aged approximately 30, along with her daughters Nasima Akther (5 years old), Safeen Kousar (3 years old), and infant Samreen Kousar (2 months old), lost their lives as the landslide engulfed their residence. Tragically, they were unable to escape the collapsing structure in time.

Two other individuals, Kalu (approximately 60 years old) and his wife Bano Begum (approximately 58 years old), sustained injuries during the landslide. The force of nature spared them from the same fate as the rest of the family, but they were not left unscathed by the disaster.

Rescue efforts swiftly commenced following the incident, with teams working tirelessly to recover the bodies of the deceased and attend to the injured. Despite their efforts, the tragic loss of life underscores the devastating impact of natural disasters, particularly on vulnerable structures such as Kacha houses.

As authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the landslide, the community mourns the loss of Phalla Akther and her three children, while also offering support to those injured in the calamity. The incident serves as a poignant reminder of the importance of proactive measures to mitigate the risks posed by natural disasters, especially in regions prone to such occurrences.
