Major Diesel Smuggling Bust in Sopore: 750 Litres Seized, Accused Arrested
In a significant operation in the village of Chatoosa within the jurisdiction of Police Station Dangiwacha in Sopore, Jammu and Kashmir Police successfully uncovered and seized a large quantity of illicit diesel. Acting on specific information, a police team led by SHO Dangiwacha Insp Jan Mohammad conducted a raid at the targeted location.
During the operation, law enforcement officials discovered six barrels containing approximately 750 litres of illicit diesel. The individual responsible for the illegal activity was identified as Babar Shams Baba, son of Shams ud Din Baba and resident of Jalal Abad in Sopore.
A case has been registered under FIR No. 11/2024 with relevant sections of the law at Police Station Dangiwacha, and an investigation is currently underway to delve deeper into the matter. This successful bust marks a significant step in combating illegal activities and ensuring the safety and integrity of the community.
