Lady Arrested By Srinagar Police, Stolen Money ₹23,46,000 Recovered

Srinagar, June 8: On Saturday, police announced the arrest of a woman in connection with a significant theft case in Central Kashmir’s Srinagar district.

Taking to the micro-blogging platform X, the police shared details of the operation. They stated, “Srinagar Police recovers stolen money to a tune of ₹23,46,000 from the accused namely Nusrat Nisar, wife of Nisar Ahmad Kuchay, resident of Barsoo Awantipora.”

The arrest followed the registration of a case under FIR No. 69/2024. The charges fall under sections 454 and 380 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), which pertain to housebreaking and theft, respectively.

The police successfully tracked down Nusrat Nisar and managed to recover the substantial amount of stolen money. The recovery marks a significant achievement in the ongoing efforts to combat theft and related crimes in the region.
