J&K Government Orders Massive Reshuffle in Police Department

Vijay Kumar ADGP L&O Entrusted With Add’l Charge of ADGP Armed & Commandant General HG/CD/SDRF

Jammu, Jan 28 (WD):

The Jammu and Kashmir government has recently executed a significant reshuffle in the Police Department across both divisions of the Union Territory.

Deepak Kumar, IPS, who served as Director Prosecution, J&K, is now appointed as Director General, Prisons, J&K.

S.J.M. Gillani, IPS, formerly ADGP Armed, J&K, has been designated as ADGP Railways, J&K.

Sunil Kumar, IPS, previously ADGP Railways, J&K, is now Director Prosecution, J&K.

Vijay Kumar, IPS, holding the position of ADGP Law & Order, J&K, takes on additional responsibilities, including ADGP Armed, J&K, and Commandant General, HG/CD/ SDRF, J&K.

The reshuffle involves sixty-two police officers across various positions, including Rayees Mohammad Bhat, IPS, Shridhar Patil, IPS, Ms. Sargun, IPS, Sandeep Gupta, IPS, and Shobhit Saxena, IPS.

In a separate order, additional transfers and postings have been outlined, affecting officers such as Amit Verma, Imtyaz Ahmad Rather, and Imtiaz Ahmed. These changes modify a previous government order, influencing positions like Deputy Commandant, SP West Srinagar, and SP West, Srinagar. The aim is to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the Police Department in Jammu and Kashmir by strategically placing officers in key positions.
