The scheme provides one-time financial assistance of Rs 50,000 to girls from families belonging to the Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) or Priority Household (PHH) ration card holders.
Shakeel Ahmad Bhat, a daily wager, was able to purchase essential items for his daughter’s marriage thanks to the scheme, which has brought significant relief to his family.
The Social Welfare Department has been raising awareness about the scheme through mass media, resulting in an increasing number of beneficiaries.
The scheme has been restructured to provide benefits to all AAY and PHH families, making it more inclusive and accessible to those in need.
The government’s initiative has made a positive impact on the lives of underprivileged families, helping them to manage the financial burden of their daughters’ marriages.
