Father of Five Found Dead in Kashmir, Family Calls for Justice

A family in North Kashmir’s Sopore has alleged murder after their son’s body was discovered under suspicious circumstances in local orchards. The body of Mushtaq Ahmed Mir, son of Ghulam Rasool Mir, was found in Duroo orchards, prompting an investigation by local authorities. The deceased, leaving behind five children, went missing on Tuesday evening, leading his family to alert the police and initiate a search operation.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SP) Sopore, Divya D (IPS), revealed that following a missing complaint from the family, multiple search teams were deployed, ultimately leading to the discovery of the body near the deceased’s home. The investigation revealed that Mushtaq had suffered multiple head injuries, leading to the detention of two suspects for questioning. Divya emphasized that preliminary investigations indicate a personal matter rather than a terror angle.

The family of the deceased, distraught by the tragic loss, expressed their anguish, with Mushtaq’s brother Mohammed Rafi denouncing the perpetrators as “beasts” and demanding justice. The body, after legal-medico formalities, was handed over to the family for the last rites. Meanwhile, authorities continue to actively pursue the case, with investigations ongoing to uncover the truth behind Mushtaq’s untimely demise.

The community in Sopore is shaken by the tragic events, with many expressing shock and concern over the circumstances surrounding Mushtaq’s death. The incident has sparked outrage and calls for swift action to ensure justice for the victim and his grieving family. As the investigation progresses, authorities remain committed to uncovering the truth and holding those responsible accountable for their actions.

While the exact motives behind Mushtaq’s death remain unclear, the community awaits further developments in the case as authorities work tirelessly to bring closure to the family and ensure that justice is served.
