BSF Soldier Commits Suicide in Kupwara’s Tangdhar

A BSF soldier posted at NITI post Tangdhar in Kupwara district of north Kashmir committed suicide on Saturday.

The soldier, identified as GD Ram Kumar, was part of the 89 battalion.

Kumar shot himself with his service rifle at the FDL NITI Post in Tangdhar, resulting in his instant death.

The incident occurred at the soldier’s post, where he was stationed.

The body of the deceased soldier was shifted to Sub District Hospital (SDH) Tangdhar for medico-legal formalities.

Police have started proceedings under section 194 BNSS following the incident.

The reasons behind Kumar’s decision to take his own life are not yet clear.

An investigation into the incident is likely to be conducted to determine the circumstances surrounding the soldier’s death.
