Boy Drowns in River Jhelum Rescue Efforts Underway

Tragedy struck in Baramulla, North Kashmir, on Wednesday, July 24, when a boy drowned in the river Jhelum.

The incident occurred while the boy was taking a bath in the river in old Baramulla.

The boy has been identified as Hazim Nasir, son of Nisar Ahmad Dar, a resident of Jalsheeri.

According to officials, Hazim Nasir lost his life while bathing in the river Jhelum.

Soon after the drowning incident, a rescue operation was launched, with police and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) rushing to the spot.

Efforts are currently underway to rescue the boy’s body from the river.

Meanwhile, the police have taken cognizance of the incident and started an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the drowning.
