Biker killed, pillion injured in Srinagar road mishap
In Srinagar, a tragic accident occurred on Sunday resulting in the death of a motorcyclist and injuring his pillion rider. The incident took place at D 27 location near Gowhar Chowk when an unidentified truck collided with the motorcycle.
According to an official speaking to news agency Kashmir Scroll, the collision caused injuries to both the rider and the pillion rider. They were promptly transported to Noora Hospital for medical attention.
Despite efforts, the rider, identified as Mehdi, approximately 25 years old and hailing from Khanyar, succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. The injured pillion rider is currently undergoing treatment for their injuries.
The police have initiated an investigation into the accident, with a case being registered in this regard. The tragic incident underscores the importance of road safety measures and vigilance while traveling, particularly on busy roads.
