Accident in North Kashmir Two Dead, 18 Injured

Srinagar, June 13: In a tragic incident in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district, two passengers lost their lives and 18 others were injured on Thursday when a minibus overturned. The accident occurred at Pazalpora in the Rafiabad area, leading to immediate chaos and a prompt response from local authorities.

According to the police, the minibus, which was carrying passengers, turned turtle after the driver lost control of the vehicle. The exact cause of the driver’s loss of control is yet to be determined, but preliminary investigations suggest a possible mechanical failure or driver error.

The two deceased passengers have been identified as Abdul Rashid Khan and Noor Mohammad Junju. Both were residents of Hamam Markhoot in the Rafiabad area. Their sudden demise has left the community in mourning, and their families in a state of shock and grief.

Upon receiving the distress call, emergency services rushed to the scene. The injured passengers were quickly transported to the government medical college (GMC) in Baramulla town for immediate medical attention. The medical staff at GMC have been working tirelessly to treat the injured and stabilize their conditions.

Officials from the police department have confirmed that an investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the accident. They have taken cognisance of the incident and are collecting evidence to ascertain whether negligence or any other factors contributed to the tragic event.

This accident has highlighted the pressing need for improved road safety measures and stricter regulations to prevent such occurrences in the future.
