UPSC Prelims Results 2024 Declared: Check Qualified Candidates List at upsc.gov.in

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has officially announced the results of the Civil Service (Preliminary) Examinations 2024 today, July 1. Candidates who participated in the exams can now access their results on the official website at upsc.gov.inhttp://upsc.gov.in. This marks a significant milestone for those who have successfully cleared the prelims as they advance to the next stages of the selection process.

Those who have qualified in the Civil Services preliminary examinations will now move on to the UPSC CSE Mains 2024. Following the mains, candidates will face the Interview or Personality Test round, which is crucial in determining the final selection. The UPSC CSE Prelims 2024 were conducted on June 16 across various exam centers nationwide, involving two objective-type papers totaling 400 marks.

The UPSC, in an official statement, noted that the candidature of these candidates is provisional. All qualified candidates must apply again in the Detailed Application Form-I (DAF-I) for the Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2024. The commission will announce the dates and important instructions for filling out and submitting the DAF-I on its website in due course.

The Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination consists of two papers: General Studies Paper-I and General Studies Paper-II. To qualify for the mains, candidates needed to secure a minimum of 33% in General Studies Paper-II and achieve the total qualifying marks in General Studies Paper-I. This ensures a comprehensive evaluation of a candidate’s abilities and readiness for the next examination phase.

The UPSC Civil Services Examination is a gateway to prestigious positions in various central government services and departments. In 2024, the examination aims to fill 1056 vacancies, including coveted roles in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), and Indian Foreign Service (IFS). Among these vacancies, 40 positions are reserved for candidates in the Persons with Benchmark Disability Category.
