Kashmir University PhD Admissions 2024: Check Details and Apply Now

The University of Kashmir is now accepting online applications for admission to its Ph.D. program across various disciplines and subjects, including those offered at its main and satellite campuses. Eligible candidates can submit their applications through the university’s website (www.kashmiruniversity.ac.in). The application process commenced on May 1, 2024, and the deadline for submission is May 15, 2024.

Candidates are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of Rs. 100/- through online mode. Following the application submission, there will be an interaction for selection with the Doctoral Research Committees (DRCs) of respective departments scheduled for May 27, 2024. The issuance of the selection list by respective Deans is expected by June 15, 2024.

This presents an opportunity for interested individuals to pursue doctoral studies in various fields offered by the University of Kashmir. For admission to the Ph.D. program at the University of Kashmir, candidates must fulfill specific eligibility criteria. They should possess a Master’s Degree in the relevant subject or an allied subject from a recognized university, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade on the UGC 7-point scale. Additionally, candidates with professional degrees deemed equivalent to a Master’s Degree by the university’s Equivalence Committee or those holding equivalent degrees from foreign educational institutions accredited by recognized authorities are eligible to apply.

Moreover, candidates who have cleared exams such as UGC/CSIR/ICAR-NET/JRF, SET/GATE, or an equivalent test recognized by the UGC, or have obtained at least 55% marks in M.Phil, are also eligible. However, applicants with an M.Phil from a university other than the University of Kashmir will undergo plagiarism checks on their dissertations. Furthermore, there’s a relaxation of 5% in marks (from 55% to 50%) for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer), persons with disabilities (PWDs), and other approved categories.

To apply, interested candidates need to visit the University’s website (www.kashmiruniversity.ac.in) and access the online application form under the “Admission” tab from May 1 to May 15, 2024. They must complete the application process within the specified timeframe and adhere to the guidelines provided to ensure their eligibility for consideration in the Ph.D. program.
