Weather Alert: Heavy Rainfall and Thunderstorms Predicted in Jammu and Kashmir Till
A weather update has been issued by the Met Centre in Srinagar, highlighting the rainfall in various regions over the past 24 hours. Jammu received 112 mm of rainfall, followed by Reasi with 74.5 mm, Katra with 72.9 mm, and Udhampur with 32.2 mm.
Looking ahead to the next few days, the forecast predicts generally cloudy conditions with spells of intermittent light to moderate rain and thundershowers at many places in the Kashmir Division and most places in the Jammu Division from August 1-5.
A spell of rain and thundershowers is expected at scattered places in the Kashmir Division and fairly widespread places in the Jammu Division on August 6-7.
From August 8-10, another spell of rain and thundershowers is predicted at scattered places.
The Met Centre has issued an advisory warning of intense showers for brief periods, which may lead to flash floods, cloud bursts, landslides, mudslides, and shooting stones over vulnerable places in Jammu and Kashmir.
Heavy rainfall is also expected at a few places in the Jammu Division. Residents are advised to exercise caution and stay alert during this period.
