Srinagar Smart City projects nearing completion, will be over in 45 days: CEO
The CEO of Srinagar Smart City Limited, Dr. Owais Ahmed, announced that Smart City projects in Srinagar are nearing completion and will be wrapped up within the next 45 days.
During a visit to the Karan Nagar area, Dr. Ahmed expressed confidence in the progress of the ongoing projects, stating that the underground work will soon be completed, followed by the macadamisation process. Projects are being undertaken in double shifts to expedite the process, aiming to provide relief to both motorists and pedestrians.
Local residents have expressed optimism about the improvements, particularly regarding easing traffic congestion and enhancing daily commutes, citing roads like Karan Nagar to Kak Sarai as significant beneficiaries. The completion of these projects is anticipated to alleviate the challenges faced by commuters, especially during rainfall, as highlighted by one resident.
Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo recently conducted a comprehensive tour of Srinagar to personally evaluate the progress of Smart City initiatives.
Accompanied by key officials, Dulloo inspected various project sites, including the development of pedestrian walkways, cycle tracks, and beautification efforts along the iconic Dal Lakefront. The collective efforts signify a significant step forward in enhancing infrastructure and urban amenities in Srinagar, promising a better quality of life for its residents.
