Weather Update for 02 & 03 Feb

Srinagar, Feb 01 (WD):

Kashmir experienced its initial significant snowfall of the season, accumulating around one foot in middle and higher reaches of various districts. The meteorological department forecasts generally cloudy weather with light snow until the afternoon of February 1.

On February 2, dry conditions are expected. From February 3-4, there’s a possibility of light to moderate snow and rain in Jammu. Night temperatures have dropped across the region.

As the 40-day harsh winter period ‘Chillai-Kalan’ concluded on January 29, Kashmir is currently in the midst of the 20-day ‘Chillai-Khurd,’ ending on February 19. This will be followed by the 10-day ‘Chillai-Bachha’ from February 20 to March 1.
