Warning Issued: 36 Licenses, RCs Scrapped for Violations in Sgr

Srinagar, Feb 02 (WD):

Authorities in Srinagar took decisive action against traffic violations, canceling 36 licenses and vehicle registration certificates. This move aims to address overloading and enhance road safety, especially in the wake of a recent tragedy in Uri.

The Regional Transport Officer (RTO) of Kashmir, Syed Shahnawaz Bukhari, emphasized the crucial role of community involvement in promoting traffic awareness. He urged civil society members and religious leaders to actively contribute to educating the public on issues like overloading.

In response to the tragic accident in Uri’s Baramulla district, Bukhari stressed the need to raise awareness about road safety and curb overloading. In Srinagar alone, 36 licenses and vehicle registration certificates have been revoked for various violations.

Bukhari assured thorough investigations and announced stringent measures to prevent accidents similar to those in Uri. He called upon citizens to collaborate in upholding traffic norms for the collective safety of all.
