Severe Cold Grips Jammu and Kashmir: Weather Update for Next Few Days
Wattan Daily (wattandaily.com) brings you the latest weather update for Jammu and Kashmir, where severe cold conditions persist across the region.

Srinagar, Feb 10: The winter chill continues to grip Jammu and Kashmir, with Srinagar recording a low of minus 4.9°C on Saturday. According to meteorological department officials, this marks a drop of one notch from the previous night’s temperature of minus 4.8°C. The current temperature in Srinagar is 5.1°C below the normal for this time of year.

Qazigund: The gateway town of Kashmir recorded a minimum temperature of minus 5.8°C, compared to minus 6.4°C on the previous night, indicating a deviation of 4.8°C from the normal.

Pahalgam: The famous resort town in south Kashmir recorded a low of minus 8.6°C, a slight improvement from the previous night’s temperature of minus 10.3°C. However, it remains 3.6°C below the normal temperature.

Kokernag: Another town in south Kashmir, Kokernag, recorded a minimum temperature of minus 3.7°C, showing a deviation of 3.0°C from the normal.

Kupwara: North Kashmir’s Kupwara town recorded a low of minus 4.4°C, down from minus 4.9°C the previous night, with a deviation of 2.9°C from the normal.

Gulmarg: The world-famous skiing resort in north Kashmir, Gulmarg, saw the mercury drop to minus 7.0°C, indicating a deviation of 0.8°C from the normal.

Jammu: The winter capital of Jammu and Kashmir recorded a minimum temperature of 7.3°C, which is 2.8°C below the normal for this time of year.

Other regions: Banihal recorded a low of 1.8°C, Batote 3.9°C, and Bhaderwah minus 2.2°C.

Looking ahead, the meteorological department forecasts dry weather until February 17, with occasional cloudy evenings on February 14. From February 18-20, there is a possibility of light snow and rain.
