Traffic update for 05th Feb
Srinagar, Feb 04 (WD):
TRAFFIC POLICE HEADQUARTERS, J&K, JAMMU/SRINAGAR
- Between 03-02-2024, 1700 hrs., and 04-02-2024, 1700 hrs., the Jammu-Srinagar NHW experienced a 2-hour and 5-minute blockage due to a landslide at Kishtwari Pather and shooting stones at Shalgarhi, Banihal. Slow movement was noted at various points on NH-44, with specific areas like Dalwas, Mehar, Hingani, Sherbibi having poor road conditions. Single lane traffic was reported at Kishtwari Pather and Hingani between Nashri and NAVYUG Tunnel.
- Travelers and LMVs operators are advised to choose daytime travel on Jammu-Srinagar NHW, avoiding night journeys due to the potential risk of shooting stones between Ramban and Banihal.
- HMVs operators/owners are urged to refrain from overloading, ensure sufficient fuel for their journey on Jammu-Srinagar NHW, and double-check the fitness of their vehicles.
- Only HMVs with 06 and 10 tyres will be permitted on Dhar road.
TRAFFIC PLAN & ADVISORY FOR 05-02-2024:
Subject to favorable weather and road conditions, LMVs Passenger/Private Cars will be allowed from both sides on Jammu-Srinagar NHW. However, HMVs will be managed in a regulated manner.
SSG ROAD:
The Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumri road remains blocked due to snow accumulation.
Mughal Road:
Mughal road is still impassable due to snow accumulation.
Bhaderwah-Chamba Road:
Bhaderwah-Chamba road is still blocked due to snow accumulation.
Kishtwar-Sinthan-Anantnag NH244:
Kishtwar-Sinthan-Anantnag NH244 road is still blocked due to snow accumulation.
