Important Weather Update for Jammu and Kashmir

Anticipate a weak Western disturbance starting late this evening, bringing about:

• A spell of light snow/rain across select areas of Jammu and Kashmir, commencing late tonight or tomorrow morning.
• The season’s inaugural light snowfall is likely across certain plains of Kashmir, with a higher probability over south Kashmir plains. Additionally, expect light to moderate snowfall in the elevated reaches of South Kmr and the Pir Panjal mountain range.

The primary activity will concentrate on the higher reaches of South Kashmir. Tomorrow morning, Sinthan Top, Peer Ki Gali, and other areas may witness 3-6 inches of fresh snowfall.

Light snowfall is also in the forecast for Gulmarg, Sonamarg, and Doodhpatri.

Duration of Wet Spell: Less than 24 hours, starting from 11 p.m. today until 12 p.m. tomorrow. Subsequent weather improvement is expected.
