Tourism Deptt. to register, train 100 female tourist guides in Kashmir

Srinagar, Jan 25 (WD):

The Directorate of Tourism in Srinagar is taking a major step towards promoting gender inclusiveness in tourism. They plan to register and provide professional training to 100 female tourist guides. The Director of Tourism, Raja Yaqoob, envisions enhancing gender parity in the sector, aiming to instill confidence among the roughly fifty percent of female tourists visiting the Kashmir Valley. This initiative is anticipated to improve service delivery and professionalize the tourism sector in the region.

Simultaneously, on National Tourism Day, the Directorate of Tourism Kashmir is actively celebrating across various destinations like Pahalgam, Gulmarg, Sonamarg, and Yousmarg. The focus of the celebration is on highlighting nature conservation and promoting sustainable tourism practices in the region.
