PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi Set to Become Next ACC President
Mohsin Naqvi, the current chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), is set to become the next president of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC).
The ACC’s rotation policy dictates that Naqvi will take over as president later this year.
A recent ACC meeting discussed the matter, and Naqvi is in line to become the next head of the organization.
According to sources, Naqvi will be confirmed as the next president when the ACC meets later this year, serving a two-year term.
Jay Shah, the secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), is the current ACC president, having received a one-year extension in January for a third consecutive term.
When Shah steps down, Naqvi will take over as ACC president, as per the rotation policy.
The ACC recently awarded hosting rights for the Asia Cup 2025 to India and the 2027 edition to Bangladesh, setting the stage for two major events in 2025.
The Champions Trophy in Pakistan and the Asia Cup in India will likely reignite discussions about whether India will travel to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy or vice versa.
