Wattandaily.com Reports: Home Department has forwarded 4022 vacancies of Constables in J&K Police to Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) in a bid to bolster the law enforcement agencies and safeguard the populace.
The posts of Constable in J&K Police, last advertised in 2019, are now being reissued, amounting to 4022 positions, aimed at reinforcing the constabulary ranks within the UT Police for enhanced security measures.
This endeavor is poised to not only strengthen the security framework in Jammu & Kashmir but also provide employment opportunities for local youth, thereby alleviating the strain on manpower faced by the J&K Police.
The absence of recruitment at the Constable level had been impeding the operational readiness and delivery mechanism of the J&K Police, highlighting the necessity of this recruitment drive.
The Services Selection Board will imminently conduct the recruitment process, facilitating aspiring candidates to apply and partake in the forthcoming recruitment proceedings, aligning with the government’s commitment to fostering local employment.
The breakdown of the 4022 vacancies includes 1689 positions for Constables (J&K Armed/IRP), 100 for Constable SDRF, 502 for Constable (Telecom), 20 for Constable (Driver), and 22 for Constable (Photography) under the UT cadre.
Additionally, within the divisional cadre, there are 1689 vacancies for Constable Executive Police, comprising 1249 posts for Jammu and 440 for Kashmir, delineating a comprehensive distribution of opportunities across regions.
Through this concerted effort, the government aims to fortify the law enforcement apparatus, empower local youth through employment, and address security challenges while maintaining peace and order in the region.(Wattan Daily)
