Authorities are investigating after a woman’s body was found in a power canal in the Gund area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Friday, officials confirmed.
As per Wattan Daily (WD), locals discovered the body and promptly alerted the police, who swiftly responded to the scene.
The body was later recovered from the canal and taken to Trauma Hospital Kangan for necessary medico-legal procedures, as reported by the official.
The deceased has been identified as Haseena Begum (57), the wife of Farooq Ahmad from Haknar Gund.
“An investigation has been launched, and a case under relevant sections of the law has been filed,” the official stated. (wattandaily.com)
