Woman, Partner Arrested for Killing Husband in J&K

In a shocking turn of events, police in Srinagar have arrested a woman and her partner for allegedly orchestrating the murder of her 33-year-old husband, Naresh Chander. The pair attempted to disguise the murder as a road accident, according to an official statement on Sunday.

Chander, hailing from Bhaderwah in Doda, was brought to Jammu’s Gandhi Nagar hospital by his wife, Shallu Devi, in the early hours of April 7. Devi claimed her husband had sustained injuries in an accident in the Gole Gujral area of Pounichak, on the outskirts of the city.

Upon receiving this information, police swiftly arrived at the hospital and recorded Shallu Devi’s statement. However, suspicions arose when her statement didn’t align with the purported accident scenario.

Following further investigation and the post-mortem examination of Chander, it was revealed that Shallu Devi and her partner, Bhanu Partap Singh, had conspired to kill Chander. Singh, a trainee at the government hospital, admitted to his involvement during police questioning.

The duo confessed to executing the murder at an abandoned plot in Seora village before presenting Chander at the hospital under the guise of a road accident. Consequently, the initial FIR was converted into a murder case.

Both Shallu Devi and Singh have been apprehended by the authorities, and the investigation into this tragic incident is ongoing.
