Will Restore Full Statehood to JK, Promises Congress Manifesto

The Congress party has unveiled its manifesto, titled ‘Nyay Patra’, in Srinagar, with a focus on several key initiatives. One prominent pledge is the promise to restore full statehood to Jammu and Kashmir immediately. This commitment aims to address a longstanding issue in the region and restore political autonomy.

Another significant aspect of the manifesto is the vow to fill nearly 30 lakh vacancies in central government posts. This move could potentially boost employment opportunities across various sectors and alleviate unemployment concerns in the country. Additionally, the manifesto includes plans to implement a 10 percent quota in jobs and educational institutions for economically weaker sections, signaling a focus on social welfare and inclusive growth.

The Congress party also aims to adopt the Rajasthan model of cashless insurance for universal healthcare, highlighting a commitment to improving access to healthcare services for all citizens. Moreover, they intend to pass a constitutional amendment to raise the cap on reservations for SC, ST, and OBC communities, addressing issues of social justice and equality.

Furthermore, the manifesto outlines plans for conducting a nationwide socio-economic and caste census, emphasizing the importance of data-driven policymaking. Additionally, the proposal for a new ‘right to apprenticeship act’ for diploma holders or graduates below 25 demonstrates a focus on skill development and youth empowerment.

In terms of employment initiatives, the manifesto includes plans for urban employment programs and abolishing the Agnipath program. Moreover, ensuring normal recruitment in the armed forces to achieve full sanctioned strength reflects a commitment to national security and defense readiness.

Overall, the Congress party’s manifesto presents a comprehensive vision for governance, with a focus on addressing key issues such as statehood, employment, healthcare, and social justice. It outlines a series of ambitious proposals aimed at addressing various challenges facing the country and improving the lives of its citizens.
