Weather Update,MeT forecasts Heavy Rains with Thunderstorm in j&K Till
Rains have swept through Jammu and Kashmir, with the Meteorological Department forecasting more precipitation in the coming days. Over the past 24 hours until 8:30 am, various regions received varying amounts of rainfall, including Srinagar (4.5mm), Qazigund (10.2mm), Pahalgam (20.8mm), and Kupwara (15.1mm), among others.
According to meteorological officials, the forecast for the next few days includes expectations of light to moderate rain, with the possibility of light snow over higher reaches. Thunder, lightning, hailstorms, and gusty winds are also anticipated at select locations, with the likelihood of heavy rain in isolated areas until April 29.
From April 29-30, the weather is predicted to be generally cloudy with light rain and thunder at scattered places. However, a generally dry weather pattern is anticipated from May 1-5 across the region.
Temperature readings reveal that Srinagar recorded a minimum of 10.5°C, Qazigund 8.4°C, and Pahalgam 6.3°C. Kokernag recorded 7.9°C, Kupwara 8.1°C, and Gulmarg 2.4°C. Jammu experienced a minimum of 19.3°C, while Banihal, Batote, and Bhaderwah recorded lows of 10.2°C, 9.7°C, and 9.8°C, respectively.
These weather conditions reflect variations across different parts of the region, with temperatures either above or below normal levels for this time of the year.
