Weather Update,J&K braces up for wet weather, night Temp drops

Jammu and Kashmir is gearing up for inclement weather, with rain anticipated in the plains and snow forecasted for higher elevations. As the region braces for these conditions, there has been a notable drop in night temperatures. For instance, Srinagar recorded a minimum temperature of 7.1°C, marking a decrease from the previous night. Similar trends were observed in other areas like Qazigund and Pahalgam, where temperatures also dipped.

However, Kokernag recorded slightly warmer temperatures compared to other regions. Despite this, the overall trend indicates a decrease in night temperatures across Jammu and Kashmir.

The meteorological department’s forecast suggests partly to generally cloudy weather with light rain and snow, accompanied by thunder in scattered places. This weather pattern is expected to persist over the coming days, with varying intensities.

Travelers and tourists are advised to plan their journeys with caution, as disruptions in transportation are likely, particularly in higher reaches. There’s also a possibility of temporary waterlogging in low-lying areas, which could impact travel routes. Additionally, the forecast highlights the potential risks of landslides, mudslides, and shooting stones, urging caution among residents and visitors alike.

Farmers are advised to suspend farm operations during the forecasted weather conditions to mitigate any potential damage to crops. With the likelihood of heavy rain, snow, and thunderstorms at isolated places, it’s essential for individuals to stay updated on weather alerts and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety and well-being.
