Weather Update, Light To Moderate Rain Expected in Valley From
The Meteorological Department has issued a forecast for Jammu and Kashmir, indicating widespread light to moderate rain on May 11 and 12. While dry weather is expected in the immediate 24-hour period, isolated light rain may occur in the region.
May 11 is predicted to bring partly to generally cloudy weather with light rain or snow in higher elevations at many locations. Additionally, thunder, lightning, and gusty winds are forecasted at a few places.
Moving to May 12, generally cloudy conditions with light to moderate rain and snow in higher areas are expected across most places. Similar to the previous day, thunder, lightning, and gusty winds may occur in isolated spots.
Beyond May 12, from May 13 onwards, the region can expect partly to generally cloudy weather with light rain possible in a few areas. However, a return to generally dry weather is anticipated from May 14 to 17.
Turning to temperature variations, Srinagar saw a low of 13.8°C, while Qazigund recorded a minimum of 10.4°C. Pahalgam registered a low of 7.1°C, Kokernag at 11.4°C, and Kupwara at 9.5°C.
Additionally, Gulmarg noted a minimum temperature of 8.5°C, all indicating slight variations from the usual temperatures for this time of year. Meanwhile, Jammu experienced a low of 25.0°C, with other areas like Banihal, Batote, and Bhaderwah also experiencing varying temperatures.
