Two KAS Officers suspended

The government in Jammu and Kashmir has taken some actions involving Mr. Abdul Hafiz Shah and Mr. Hilal Ahmad Mir. Let’s break down what’s happening.

1. Suspension of Mr. Abdul Hafiz Shah:

The government has suspended Mr. Abdul Hafiz Shah, who works as the Regional Director of Survey and Land Records in Anantnag. This means he is temporarily not allowed to work. The decision is based on concerns about his behavior, and an investigation is underway to look into this. The order for his suspension is outlined in the Government Order No.1491-JK(GAD) of 2023, dated 27-11-2023. The rules being followed for this action are part of the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1956. During this suspension period, he will be assigned to work in the office of the Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir.

2. Attachment of Mr. Hilal Ahmad Mir:

Similarly, Mr. Hilal Ahmad Mir, who is a Project Officer for Wage Employment in Kupwara, has been attached to the General Administration Department. This means he has been reassigned to work in a different department temporarily. Just like Mr. Shah, there are concerns about Mr. Mir’s conduct, and an inquiry is pending to investigate further. The order for this action is outlined in the Government Order No.1451-JK(GAD) of 2023, dated 27.11.2023.

In both cases, the decisions have been made by the government of Jammu and Kashmir. These actions are not permanent but are being taken while an inquiry is conducted to understand the behavior or actions of the individuals involved. The orders were issued by the Government of Jammu and Kashmir, indicating the authority behind these decisions.
