Tributes Paid to Five Soldiers Who Sacrificed Their Lives in Rajouri Encounter
Rajouri/Jammu, Nov 24: In a solemn ceremony held at the Army General Hospital in Rajouri, the military and police paid heartfelt tributes to five brave personnel who lost their lives during a recent encounter in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district.
The 36-hour-long gunfight, which took place in the Bajimaal area of Darmsal, resulted in the elimination of two terrorists, including a high-ranking Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commander with training in Afghanistan.
Among the casualties were two captains and three other soldiers, highlighting the dedication and sacrifice of the security forces in the region.
The wreath-laying ceremony, attended by the General Officer Commanding Romeo Force and other dignitaries, served as a poignant moment to honor the fallen soldiers.
The names of those who made the ultimate sacrifice include Captain M V Pranjal (63 RR) from Mangalore, Karnataka; Captain Shubham Gupta (9 Para) from Agra, Uttar Pradesh; Havaldar Abdul Majid (Para) from Ajote in Poonch, J-K; Lance Naik Sanjay Bist from Halli Padli, Nainital, UK; and Paratrooper Sachin Laur from Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh.
As the nation mourns the loss of these heroes, the mortal remains of the martyred army personnel are being respectfully sent to their respective hometowns for the final rites.
