Train to chug in remote district of Kupwara, Northern Railways set for drone survey

Kupwara, Jan 27 (WD):

The District Administration has granted conditional approval for a drone survey to construct a new 33.7-kilometer rail line connecting Sopore to Kupwara. This initiative by Northern Railways aims to enhance transportation infrastructure in the northern district of Kupwara.

However, the approval comes with specific conditions to ensure safety and security. Northern Railways must cooperate with local police, PMF, and sister agencies, assuming personal responsibility for any unforeseen events during the survey.

The issued permission emphasizes responsible conduct, requiring the rail authorities to report to concerned police stations, avoid obstruction in traffic, and refrain from causing annoyance to the public, educational institutes, religious places, and other important establishments.

Additionally, the DC Kupwara mandates adherence to guidelines set by the Supreme Court or any other competent court. The permission restricts drone usage near the Line of Control (LoC) and sensitive areas, specifying day-time usage between 9 am and 4 pm for the survey.
