Traffic Update: December 29 Advisory
- Previous Incidents (27-12-2023 to 28-12-2023):
Slow movement on NH-44 due to the breakdown of 03 HMVs and poor road conditions at Dalwas. Single lane traffic at Cafeteria-Mehad, Magerkote, Nachlana, and Hingani between Nashri and NAVYUG Tunnel. Passengers/LMVs advised for daytime travel on Jammu-Srinagar NHW, avoiding night journeys due to shooting stone risk between Ramban and Banihal. - Important Notices for HMVs:
- HMVs operators urged to avoid overloading, carry sufficient fuel, and ensure vehicle fitness.
- Only HMVs with 06 and 10 tyres allowed on Dhar road.
- Traffic Plan for 29-12-2023:
- LMVs Passenger/Private Cars/HMVs/Load Carriers allowed on Jammu-Srinagar NHW from both sides, subject to fair weather.
- Security Forces vehicles permitted in both directions on Jammu-Srinagar NHW.
- Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumari road open for LMVs followed by HMVs during specified hours.
- SFs Convoy planning to ensure minimal disruption to Civil Traffic.
- Mughal Road Update (Subject to Weather):
- Vehicular movement allowed from both sides (Poonch towards Shopian and vice versa) on Mughal road.
- Timing: 1000 hrs to 1500 hrs, contingent on road agencies’ green signal.
- Important Advisory:
- Travelers urged to confirm road status from Traffic Control Units before undertaking journeys on NH-44.
