Three individuals have been arrested for allegedly hurting the religious sentiments of a community in Jammu and Kashmir’s Samba district, officials reported on Friday. The arrests were made following the discovery of a cow carcass in the Triloke di Chapri area, which prompted a police investigation.
Upon receiving information about the carcass, the police registered an FIR and constituted a special team to investigate the matter. The team quickly reached the location and recovered the cow’s carcass, initiating a thorough inquiry into the incident.
Using a combination of technical and physical methods, the police identified several suspects for questioning. Among them were two individuals named Rohit and Ajay, who were apprehended and subjected to intensive interrogation by the authorities.
During the questioning, Rohit and Ajay revealed that they had been hired by Rajan Sambyal of Garh Mandi to dispose of the body of his deceased cow. Their mishandling of the carcass led to parts of it being discovered by the public, resulting in hurt sentiments among a particular religious community.

In response to the incident, all three individuals involved – Rohit, Ajay, and Rajan Sambyal – have been apprehended by the police. Legal proceedings have been initiated against them under relevant laws to address the offense and maintain communal harmony.
The police have emphasized their commitment to upholding the law and ensuring that such incidents are dealt with promptly and effectively. They urged the public to remain calm and cooperate with the authorities during the investigation.
